Built on a modified Panzer III and Panzer IV chassis, it mounted the formidable 88mm PaK 43 anti-tank gun capable of destroying virtually any Allied tank at long range. Although lightly armored, the Nashorn's powerful gun and excellent range allowed it to engage enemy armor from positions beyond the reach of many opposing vehicles.
