Fits up to 12-14 cars depending on how tall the cars are that you put into the unit (photo shows 12 cars). The blue plastic on the sides of the units is only a scratch cover, which is intended to be removed, and the units are made to be displayed as the "aluminum look" with aluminum colored (shiny silver) rails.
