Pedal tractors were first produced in 1949, starting with the John Deere Model A by Eska. Ertl followed soon after and still makes them today, along with Scale Models since the 1980s. While originally made for kids, pedal tractors gained popularity among collectors in the 1970s. Today, about 60% are sold to collectors and 40% to children. Designed for ages 3–7, kids love them for their realistic look and feel. The new book covers brands like John Deere, Case, Farmall, Oliver, Allis Chalmers, Ford, and more. It also features custom models, trailers, parts, and rare cast aluminum issues.
